Bentley’s WaterGEMS, Integrated With GIS and SCADA Technology, Delivers Money-Saving, Automated Decision Tool for Westernport Water

Bentley’s WaterGEMS, Integrated With GIS and SCADA Technology, Delivers Money-Saving, Automated Decision Tool for Westernport Water: WaterGEMS water distribution modeling software, integrated with Open Spatial’s geographic information system (GIS) and Control Microsystems’ supervisory control and data acquisition system (SCADA), to cost-effectively operate and manage more than $43 million in water assets. The SCADA system allows field-measured data to be brought directly into WaterGEMS using the modeling software’s SCADAConnect and Darwin Calibrator modules. The SCADAConnect technology with real-time updates will save Westernport Water approximately $80,000 in calibration costs. Prior to deploying this system, Westernport Water annually engaged the services of external contractors to manually upgrade and calibrate the water model.

Bricscad .dwg CAD and Vondle project management - Bricsys

Bricscad .dwg CAD and Vondle project management - Bricsys: Menhirs NV, the parent company of Bricsys NV, announced today that it has acquired the intellectual property rights for several flagship software products from LEDAS. The acquired IP consists of the source code to LGS 2D, LGS 3D, Driving Dimensions, RhinoWorks, and other programs used by the computer-aided design industry.

The acquisition reinforces the position of Bricsys in the mechanical computer-aided design (MCAD) market. As a result of the acquisition, Bricsys and its team of third-party developers will easily build more MCAD applications on top of the Bricscad platform. The technology developed by LEDAS permits the development of advanced applications in the areas of direct modeling, assembly design, and related functions.

Bentley Kicks off OpenPlant Road Show

Nov 7 - Bentley Kicks off OpenPlant Road Show: Today announced the launch of its 2011 OpenPlant Road Show. This multi-city tour, which includes stops in Europe, the United States, Canada, and Mexico, runs through November. Bentley has recently enhanced the interoperability of its OpenPlant software for plant creation to address the full lifecycle of plant projects – whether greenfield or brownfield – and attendees to the road show will experience these new capabilities first-hand. Demonstrations show how owner-operators and engineering, procurement, and construction (EPC) contractors currently using PlantSpace, PDS, PDMS, and/or AutoPLANT can now readily extract data from legacy data sources, work in 2D and 3D design and modeling tools, provide construction engineers with on-site model views via the iPad to compare against real-world progress, and cycle model information accurately back into operational systems.
